We are always thrilled to host our guests at The Egerton – so if you’ve enjoyed your time with us, why not stay a little longer? We invite you to be our guest – on the house – for the fourth night when you book four nights or more.
Our traditional Afternoon Tea is composed of a superb choice of loose-leaf teas and refreshing infusions served with an irresistible selection of indulgent treats. Start with our delicious freshly made dainty English sandwiches and seasonal pastries. Then move on to our delectable, hand-baked traditional British scones with lashings of clotted cream and lavish strawberry preserve. This time-honored English tradition will make you feel like a duke or duchess in our intimate library that transports you to a 19th-century stately home. Make the experience even more special with a glass of Champagne to begin to really emulate the British nobility.
Travel back in time to witness this exclusive window in the life of a Victorian lady. Allow your costumed guide to host you for tea and discover the complex and rich cultural history of traditional English tea. Afterwards, you can take a lesson in the mysterious and ancient art of tasseography, or tea leaf reading. Obtain the skills that generations of English ladies have used to entertain and enthral their guests, by letting the leaves forecast the future. This fortune-telling experience is available for groups of 15 or more.
What more could a little prince and princess want than to enjoy afternoon tea in regal splendor?
Your little ones will enjoy jam sandwiches, cupcakes and ice cream alongside hot chocolate or soft drinks.
We are able to accommodate any special dietary requirements you may have, including vegetarian sandwiches, gluten-free breads, pastries and scones. We can also remove any fresh cream and mayonnaise products from the afternoon tea stand, if requested. We will endeavour to ensure that there are no nuts in the afternoon tea offering.
